Natural clay building |
Eco-friendly clay plaster finish | Breathable natural clay paint
Clay isn’t just for historic homes—it also performs beautifully in new construction. Clay fully supports healthy indoor air and comfort while being an environmentally sustainable building material. Its local sourcing and low-energy production ensure a minimal environmental footprint.
Colored fine clay plasters in a wide range of shades, along with durable clay paints, create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
An added benefit is natural shielding against electromagnetic smog.
The range of clay building products has expanded significantly. Thirty years ago, only coarse and fine clay were available; today there are many options: clay bricks, six types of natural clay plasters, colored variants, thin-layer trowels, reinforcing adhesives, drywall panels, prefabricated rammed clay walls, and more.
Clay products have become an essential part of modern construction.
Sustainable insolation
Insulation with ecological materials, such as wood fiber boards, provides effective thermal protection and protects the environment. It is not more expensive than conventional insulation, but it also safeguards the building structure thanks to its breathable construction. You don’t live in a “plastic bag.”
Moisture can diffuse outward or inward, ensuring a comfortable indoor climate.
External Insulation
Thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) with wood fiber boards up to 240 mm thickness, future-proof insulation, meeting all ENEV regulations.
Plaster or wood facade is possible.
Internal Insulation
Wood fiber boards glued and dowelled, plastered with clay. Recommended insulation thickness from 60 mm up to 120 mm, more effective than external insulation and space-saving. In combination with a wall heating system (WEM) without visible radiators, it provides healthy radiant warmth, also suitable for allergy sufferers.
Roof Insulation
For a rafter roof, blown-in cellulose is recommended; it is very economical in terms of effort and effectiveness, and provides excellent summer heat protection. It fills all cavities securely against settling.
Roof insulation in my Tuscan rustico is a bit different. Here, the historic roofing is often leaky, with significant heat entering the living spaces. I solved this with a breathable underroof membrane and a mineral, non-combustible insulation layer.
Wooden floorboards | parquet
Highly recommended are BERG and BERG prefinished parquet, made 100% from sustainably managed, company-owned forests. Distinctive Swedish originals—whether wild oak or other wood types, smoked or white-oiled—a hardwood floor offers a very long lifespan. Oil or lacquer finish can be chosen depending on wear and usage. Nature provides the most beautiful colors, and with Berg and Berg parquet, you can bring some of them into your home.
For solid wood floors, my focus is on oak, offering a variety of wood grades, widths, surfaces, and finishes.
Sanded, brushed, limed, smoked, oiled, or lacquered.
I also offer restoration and refinishing services.
Drywall installation
Sometimes drywall is the simple solution!
With just a few steps, spaces can be created and quickly made habitable. This applies not only to standard drywall construction with gypsum boards, but also to clay drywall panels, which are now available in various types—light and heavy, different formats and thicknesses. I offer both, with finishes from Q1 to Q4 using clay filler.
Professional tiling
Individual solutions are my specialty. Perfect preparation and sealing are key. I offer everything from historic to modern designs, also gladly in combination with clay plaster. Efficient tiling and plenty of clay on the walls ensure that mirrors no longer fog up—a sign that clay can absorb large amounts of moisture in a short time. Optimal for bathrooms!
